I've been using this concealer a little over 3 months now. I think it's sufficient enough to say it's time for a review. So here it is!
INITIAL THOUGHTS...
Really impressed. For an extremely inexpensive concealer a little product goes a long way and held up for quite sometime. Happy Camper indeed...
e.l.f.'s Maximum Coverage Concealer Review:
RESULT: 3/5
The main reason I bought it was to see how well it would cover my Keloid
scars. Keloid scars are raised, dark red scars that can get irritating
and itchy and unfortunately, never go away. I've yet to find anything that will make the scars less noticeable to the point where I can wear a low cut top. I don't even wear v-neck tops cause I'm quite self conscious of the scars. Unfortunately, it didn't cover to my liking. It's not cause the color doesn't match the skin on my chest (okay for my face though), but because it did look too matte. The skin on my chest naturally has some shine to it, but this was just way too matte. Also, because the scars are raised it's still quite noticeable when certain lighting causes the shadows. However, in my opinion..I think this would cover flat scars quite well as it covers birthmarks well (Photos below).
On the plus side, I did really like it on my face. It covers quite well for blemishes. I only use one layer daily for the amount of coverage I prefer. I use it to cover under eye circles, small blemishes, and some redness around the nose. The result is dewy but then dries pretty matte. Also, it really brightens up my eyes. It hasn't caused me to break out and doesn't clog my pores. For the amount of concealers I've tried (not that many). This is one of my faves (as of yet). One reason especially is because it's oil free. Prior to purchasing this I went searching for online reviews but came up with so few, cause it was a new item at the time. However, the reviews were convincing enough for me to want to try and come of with my own verdict. Also, cause it is so inexpensive! So to sum it up, I'm quite pleased for using it on my face, but not my scars.

TEXTURE: 4/5
It's actually quite a thick consistency but not suffocating. I really like how it doesn't feel greasy on the skin. It blends easily without drying up too quickly.
WEAR: 3/5
Lasts better than your average concealer. I am fine without touch ups for around 6 hours. It doesn't crease or cake around the eyes. It does emphasize drier areas, but with good exfoliation it's fine.
PRODUCT FOR PRICE: 5/5
This is a no brainer. 3$ a pop. I've been using this for 3 months give or take and still have more than half the tube.

Thanks for the awesome review!Haha now I want this. I'm meaning to get some elf products soon because I want a couple eyeshadow brushes from there. I just googled Keloid scars. I've seen those before on people but I thought they were just normal scars(which i guess they could actually just be normal scars..) Anyway, i'm sorry you have to deal with a problem like that...I know you live in Canada and I don't know if you guys have Hard Candy but have you tried out the Hard Candy Glamoflage concealer on the scars?I also know the MAC concealers have a buttload of coverage but i'd imagine that could probably get expensive since it doesn't seem like you get a ton of product with those concealers.
Thanks Natalie :)
Thanks Jacky and no problem :) We do have hard candy and I have one of the glamoflage concealers but I wanted to finish this one first, before opening it :). I've heard some amazing reviews of that concealer so I managed to snag one. If it goes well I'm gonna pick a lighter shade for my chest to test it out. Thanks for reminding me! :) I used to use mac concealer but it was too oily for me..maybe I have to use a different line? I'll definitely check it out :D
Wow, looks nice ;) i am so going to try it out ;)
Oh i didnt know they had a concealer..lmao in Target I never seen it. I want to try! I love the tinted moisturizer though, its good for light to medium. This concealer may be good for me since i dont like heavy make up anyway!
